What To Do: Checklist

  • Call the law enforcement agency in which the crime occurred in and file a police report.
  • Do not touch anything prior to law enforcement coming, because it is a crime scene.
  • If suitable stay at neighbors home until law enforcement arrives.
  • When the predominate physical aggressor is arrested, if applicable the Deputy will return to the residence to provide the victim with a copy of the protective order.
  • The Deputy will give the victim domestic violence handouts and will ask the victim if she/he like a Call to Protect Phone. This phone is a cell-phone that only dials 911.
