Women's Self-Defense Course

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office offers a Women’s Self-Defense Course as an opportunity for women to learn how to defend themselves in the event of an attack. The course is designed to provide women with the necessary building blocks of skills to defend themselves as well as proactive safety recommendations to increase awareness. 

About

The course is free to participants and consists of four individual class sessions that build upon each other. Participation in all four classes is required for graduation. Courses are offered several times per year.

  • Home/ business safety
  • Legality of self-defense 
  • Expectations of law enforcement following an incident
  • Physical confidence
  • Self-defense techniques
  • Self-defense simulation training 

Requirements for Participation 

  • Participants must be Loudoun County residents, employees, or business owners 
  • Age 13 years or older
  • Good moral character 
  • No outstanding warrants or pending criminal charges
  • Currently open to only females
