Parks, Recreation and Open Space Board (PROSB)

Nature Explorers

(Ages 4-6) Excite your child's sense of wonder in this on-going nature-based program. Young explorers will use their senses in open-ended investigations of nature, through play, stories, music, art, and observation. The Discovery Grove, an outdoor environment tailored especially for young explorers, and the Education Center Classroom will be home-base, with trails, ponds, meadows, and woods further enhancing this fun learning experience.

Trout Fishing Day

(All ages) Families and individuals can enjoy a day at the park fishing for rainbow and golden trout. Kids' fishing runs from 8am until 12pm; parents can help. Fishing is open to everyone from 12pm to 4pm. No fishing license is required for this event. Trout may be taken home but all other species must be returned to the pond. The creel limit will be announced at the event. Volunteers will be on hand to clean fish. Event-day registration is available for an additional $2/child and $3/adult. Bouncing Bunny Breakfast

(All ages) Enjoy breakfast with the Bunny and bouncing in our moon bounce. Don't forget your camera! Advance registration recommended. Call the center for more information. (Activity #304702-01)

Project Wild/Wild Aquatic Workshop

(Ages 18+) Grades K-12 educators gain hands on environmental education resources through these nationally recognized programs. Discover trusted ways to expand your classroom to the outdoors and get children exploring! You must attend the entire workshop to receive the materials. CALL TO REGISTER!

Bounce Into Spring

Lanesville and Frogshackle Open House

(All ages) Discover the history of this property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Explore our nature center's treasure trove of hands-on nature items. No registration required.

Daddy-Daughter Spring Dance

Lucketts Bluegrass

(All ages) The Lucketts Bluegrass tradition continues into its 40th year and is one of the longest continuously running series of its kind in the country. Old-time bands and exciting newcomers are featured from October through the last Saturday in April.

(All ages) Loudoun Lyric Opera is proud to premiere an original opera based on the unusual true story of Oliver Wilcox Norton - a Union soldier took part in some of the most pivotal moments of America's Civil War.
