Control
The control of communicable diseases is a key means by which the Loudoun County Health Department works to ensure the health and well-being of its residents. This is accomplished through:
- Administering immunizations for vaccine-preventable diseases
- Investigating potential epidemic or outbreak situations
- Surveillance of diseases and following-up on reportable diseases
- Testing and treating for tuberculosis and sexually-transmitted infections
The department also works to manage environmental public health issues, including vector control and food protection.
