Developmental Services

Overview

The Developmental Services division is part of the Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services (MHSADS), providing the single point of entry to public mental health, developmental services and substance abuse services to families and individuals in Loudoun County.

Individuals born with developmental or intellectual disabilities may benefit from services from infancy throughout life. Many families with children that have long term support needs due to a developmental or intellectual disability seek information or assistance to navigate the complex maze of social, educational, behavioral and medical support services that are required.

Developmental Services staff members are trained to assess service needs, program eligibility and provide information and referral to services and supports that can help provide the individual the opportunity to live life in their community with family and friends.
