Referral Process

  • Law enforcement refers offender to Juvenile Court Service Unit for an intake screening
  • The case is evaluated by an Intake Officer for appropriateness as a Restorative Justice Diversion case
  • A Juvenile Court Judge orders Restorative Justice Conference at disposition

Agreement / Conference Phase

  • Diversion Officer schedules meeting with parties involved
  • Meeting held and if an agreement is reached, diversion phase continues

Restorative Phase

  • Successful completion of agreement leads to a successful resolution of offense
  • Unsuccessful completion of agreement leads to a formal charge and adjudication
