UOCAVA / UMOVA Election Notice

This is an official notice of a General Election to be conducted in the County of Loudoun on November 7, 2023. If you are an absent military or overseas citizen eligible to vote in state and local elections, you may register to vote and request a regular absentee ballot for upcoming elections online using the Virginia Department of Elections voter registration portal. Please note that a driver’s license or identification card issued by the Virginia DMV is required to complete the process electronically. If you do not have a DMV-issued ID, you may also apply by using the federal postcard application (FPCA). You can submit your FPCA by a scanned email attachment to the Office of Elections and Voter Registration or via fax to 703-777-0622. Detailed instructions are provided in the Virginia Voting Assistance Guide. FPCA’s are valid for all elections in the calendar year in which they are submitted and must be renewed annually.

If you do not receive your state ballot in time, you may vote using a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB). You can identify all of the federal, state, and local offices and, if applicable, ballot measures that, as of this date, are expected to be on the ballot by visiting the Virginia Department of Elections' Citizen Portal or visiting the Candidate List page to see a full list of candidates.

Virginia law requires an Election Notice for UOCAVA voters not later than 100 days before a regularly scheduled election that permits absentee voting, and as soon as practicable in the case of a Special Election held at a time other than a regularly scheduled Special Election. As soon as ballot styles are approved, the Virginia Department of Elections will update its website with the certified candidates for each office and ballot measures that will be on the ballot. For most elections, ballots will be sent at least 46 days before the election to voters that have requested them; ballots for special elections scheduled after the deadline not involving a federal office will be sent as soon as possible.
