Business Assistance Team: Planning & Zoning

The Loudoun County Department of Planning and Zoning is responsible for reviewing rezonings, special exceptions and related applications to determine consistency with county plans and ordinances.

If the business you want to operate is not permitted by right under the Zoning Ordinance, you may need to apply for a special exception or minor special exception to be allowed to operate in your particular zoning district. Prior to applying, you will need to meet with Planning and Zoning Department staff for a pre-application conference. More information and links to required documents are online:
