Judgments

Judgments (PDF) are non-chancery related cases and are often referred to as loose papers by the county clerks. Judgments represent a wealth of names of individuals who may have resided in Loudoun County but lacked property.

Non-chancery cases (PDF) were originally documented as chancery cases but were later reclassified as judgments or non-chancery by the Library of Virginia.

Justice Judgments

Justice judgments (PDF) are small money judgments whose cases were heard by magistrate in towns throughout Loudoun County in the 19th century. Today they would be called small claims.
