Department Mission
The Department of Building and Development’s mission is to provide premier customer service in a timely and competent manner, and to work with the community and other local government units to create a vibrant and healthy physical, social, and economic environment. Services shall be provided in an equitable, respectful and professional manner.
Department Responsibilities
The department conducts oversight of all phases of construction within Loudoun County. This includes ensuring the proper subdivision of land, review / approval of design and construction plans, inspections during the construction phase, and final approval of projects for occupancy or use.
