Tree Plantings

Tree Plantings

Planting trees is a fun and productive way to protect our local waters and the Chesapeake Bay from the impact of runoff by: promoting soil infiltration, slowing water down, absorbing water, binding of the soil, stabilizing stream banks, and filtering of pollutants.

What Communities Can Do

Individuals that want to support tree plantings in the county or their community can help by volunteering time at a local tree planting event, or by encouraging tree plantings in their communities.
