The Affordable Dwelling Unit Advisory Board operates under by Chapter 1450 of the Loudoun County Codified Ordinances.


Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Loudoun County advisory bodies are conducting "electronic meetings" under the Continuity of Government Ordinance (PDF) adopted by the Board of Supervisors on March 16, 2021. Meetings dates of this advisory body may differ from its normal schedule. Information on the actual meeting dates and times of this advisory body and on how to access the meeting remotely will be posted on the Loudoun County Government Calendar and at Agendas and related documents prepared for the meetings are posted below.


There are eleven members appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

  • Two of the members are to be civil engineers and/or land surveyors and/or architects or planners, all of whom shall have extensive experience in practice in Loudoun County.
  • One member represents a lending institution which finances residential development in Loudoun County
  • Four members consist of:
    • A representative of the Board of Supervisors or its designee
    • The Loudoun County Planning Department
    • A residential builder or developer with extensive experience in producing single-family detached and attached dwelling units
    • A residential builder or developer with extensive experience in producing multi-family dwelling units
  • One member represents a qualified non-profit housing group providing service in Loudoun County, if one exists.
  • One member is to be a real estate agent.
  • One member is to be a program participant.
  • One member represents the public at-large.
