Retired Law Enforcement Officers Firearms Qualification

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office offers opportunities for retired law enforcement officers who meet the eligibility requirements set forth in 18 U.S. Code § 926C to complete a firearm qualification course under the supervision of the Firearms Training Unit.

Upon successful completion of this program, retired law enforcement officers will be provided a proof of qualification card that meets aids compliance with 18 U.S. Code § 926C.

This opportunity will be offered once annually for retired law enforcement. Eligible participants may only qualify with one weapon during the firearms qualification. Eligible participants will be allowed one opportunity to qualify with a single weapon. 

Participate

Those interested in participating in this program should download the application found below, and submit the completed application packet as instructed on the application. Once your application has been processed, you will be notified via email whether your application has been approved.

Cost

There is currently no fee for Loudoun County residents to participate in this program. Non-residents of Loudoun County will be charged a $20 fee to participate in this program. Fees will be collected at the conclusion of the firearm qualification process.
