About the Unit

Crime prevention refers to the range of strategies and proactive measures taken to minimize the opportunity for crime and violence. 

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit is responsible for planning and coordinating crime prevention activities throughout the county, with a strong emphasis on the prevention of property crimes.  Deputies assigned to the unit liaison with formal community organizations, businesses, homeowner associations, and other community groups to increase crime prevention awareness through training and education.
