About the Unit

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Juvenile Resource Unit is a proactive part of the Sheriff's Office that offers many programs to assist and train children in many aspects of crime prevention.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this unit are:

  • Boy Scout/Girl Scout meetings
  • Classroom visitation (for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, offering a variety of subjects such as strangers, weapon/gun safety, etc.)
  • D.A.R.E.
  • Summer McGruff Safety Camps (camps for children ages 4 to 6 focusing on safety-related topics)
