Overview
The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental services provides a variety of outreach and coordination services to Loudoun residents:
- Needing services due to mental illness - adults and youth
- Requiring Support to stay at home or in the community
- Needing skills to succeed in at-risk environments - youth ages 6-18
- At-risk of becoming homeless or homeless
Services
Services include:
- Court and Correctional Services provides a variety of clinical services within the legal system, to include court-ordered evaluations, and independent evaluations in the civil commitment process. At the Loudoun Adult Detention Center, staff provide crisis intervention, psychiatric medication management, substance use treatment and release planning to inmates with serious mental illness.
- Intensive Community Treatment (ICT) provides community based mental health and substance use treatment, as well as vocational training and supports to anyone with serious mental illness who is reluctant to access traditional clinic-based services.
- PATH provides outreach and support to homeless (or at-risk of becoming homeless) adults with serious mental illness in order to connect them to primary behavioral healthcare, substance abuse services and other supports that enhance stability and functioning in the community.
- WrapAround Loudoun Care Coordinators work with families to develop a working team and facilitate the development and implementation of a plan of care, building upon a strength-based needs assessment and identification of resources and supports necessary to reach identified goals.
