Internet Safety Rules for Young People
Do not give out personal information such as your address, telephone number, parents' work address/ telephone number, or the name and location of your school without your parents' permission.
Tell your parents right away if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Never agree to get together with someone you meet online.
Never send a picture or anything else without checking with your parents.
Do not respond to any messages that are mean or make you feel uncomfortable.
Talk to your parents and set up rules for going online. They can help you with planning how long you should be online and areas that you can visit.
Do not give your passwords to anyone other than your parents.
Check with your parents before downloading or installing anything.
Be a good online citizen and do not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.
Help your parents understand how to have fun and learn things online and teach them about the Internet, computers and other technology.
Remember, people are not always who they say they are.
Any cyber-bullying or inappropriate content should be reported to a trusted adult.
