As of November 20, 2023, eligible Loudoun County residents may apply for emergency eviction assistance by submitting an online pre-screening application through the nonprofit Loudoun Cares. Read more about the program in this news release

Loudoun County residents who are experiencing difficulty making rent or mortgage payments as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for payment assistance through one of these programs: 

  • Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance Program: Provides help with rent and utilities to residents of the Diocese of Arlington who are facing a one-time financial emergency. Assistance is given on a first-come, first-serve basis. 
  • Loudoun Cares COVID-19 Emergency Fund and Helpline: Responds to requests from Loudoun residents who need help paying rent and/or utilities as a result of lost wages from the COVID-19 crisis.
  • Virginia Mortgage Relief Program (VMRP): Provides assistance to homeowners experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19, to help prevent and/or ease mortgage delinquencies, defaults, foreclosures and displacement. Financial hardship could include an increase in living expenses, childcare, change in household size, job loss or reduction in income, etc.
