Low-Cost Rabies Vaccine and Microchip Clinics

Keep your pets healthy and safe by joining Loudoun County Animal Services (LCAS) at one of our low-cost rabies vaccine and microchip clinics. Dogs and cats as young as 12 weeks may participate in the clinic. Pet owners should bring their cats in carriers. Dogs must remain on a leash of six feet or less. No flexi-leads, please. We recommend bringing any prior vaccination records, but records are not required. Have questions? Email Us!

Low-Cost Rabies Vaccination & Microchip Clinic - LCAS, Leesburg, VA

  • Tuesday, April 23, 2024 - 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

This is a low-cost rabies vaccination and microchip clinic for cats and dogs. No appointments needed. Cats and dogs over 12 weeks of age are welcome to attend. Please bring cats in carriers and dogs on secure collars/harnesses and non-retractable leashes. 

Please stay in your vehicle and follow staff directions for parking. Please limit to no more than 4 pets/family per clinic.

To receive the three-year rabies vaccine, you must bring proof of prior vaccination. Translation services are available on-site.

  • Microchips $15 (free for Loudoun County residents)
  • Rabies Vaccine $10 (1 and 3 year)
  • Dog License $10/year (required for Loudoun County dog owners)

All About Animals: So You Want To Be A Wildlife Rehabber

Join Loudoun County Animal Services and Blue Ridge Wildlife Center for a program all about helping wildlife!

Interested in helping wildlife? Want to volunteer your time? Want to learn more about the incredible wildlife in Loudoun County? Join us for an evening lecture - All About Animals: So You Want To Be A Wildlife Rehabber. We will be learning the process to become a wildlife rehabber, and strategies for co-existing with wildlife.

There is no cost to attend this program. This program is open to all ages but the suggested age is 16+, attendees under 18 years of age must attend with a parent and/or guardian.

All About Animals: Rabbits 101

Join Loudoun County Animal Services as we learn all about rabbits! We will learn about their care, general needs and home set-up, behavior and medical needs too. Class participants will receive a voucher for a fee-waived rabbit adoption and a free housing set-up.

There is no cost to attend this program. This program is open to all ages but attendees under 18 years of age must attend with a parent and/or guardian.

Emergency Preparedness for Livestock Owners

Sunday, April 21, 2024 | 3:00-4:30 p.m. | Bluemont Community Center, Bluemont, VA

Join Loudoun County Animal Services as we discuss emergency preparedness for livestock owners. Join our Humane Law Enforcement officers to learn about steps you can take to be ready for anything from minor issues trailering and around the farm, to storms, fires and other emergency situations. Learn about the Technical Large Animal Rescue program, Operation Protect Livestock and other county programs that can help you keep your livestock safe.

There is no cost to attend this program. This program is open to all ages but the suggested age is 16+, attendees under 18 years of age must attend with a parent and/or guardian.

Critters & Crafts

Join us for Critters & Crafts! This educational program includes learning about an animal and then making a fun craft! Participants will also have time to visit the adoption kennels at the shelter. Children of all ages are welcome but those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

There is no cost to attend this program but space is limited: Sign up today!

What to expect: 

  • This program features a different craft activity each month and utilizes skills such as coloring, cutting paper, using glue sticks, and/or using fine motor skills. 
  • The craft portion timespan is dependent on participant skill level, but generally takes 20-30 minutes. 
  • After the craft activity, participants may choose to explore the shelter and adoption areas or go on our scavenger hunt; this involves taking a sheet of paper with a list of icons to search for.

Summer Camp at LCAS

Join us for summer camp at the animal shelter. We will learn about pets, wildlife, tour the shelter, meet adoptable animals, do fun crafts and more! Campers will participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Please note, peanut butter is used throughout the facility.
