Active Open Enrollment 2024 Has Ended

What is Active Open Enrollment?

An active open enrollment is an open enrollment just like the county has every year but requires every employee on the county health plan to make an active new election through myLoudoun, Oracle Employee Self-Service. All new enrollments become effective on January 1, 2024.

Your current plan elections from this year will not carry forward into the next plan year. This year all benefit-eligible employees will be required to make a new election for:

  • Medical/prescription drug
  • Dental/vision
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 

Note for Current Employees 

If you are currently enrolled in health coverage and wish to re-enroll yourself and your dependents, you will not need to provide supporting documentation as proof of eligibility to enroll your dependents. The county reviewed their supporting documentation when your dependents were first enrolled. However, documentation must be provided for any new dependents added during open enrollment. Don't delay enrollment! There will be a weekly drawing of enrolled employees for a chance to win a portable mini exercise bike. The earlier you enroll, the more chances to win the prize!

Employees who may need special accommodations in accessing the active Benefits Open Enrollment, have difficulty in navigating Oracle Employee Self-Service, or need assistance in the participation of the educational and enrollment sessions leading up to enrollment, should email the Department of Human Resources to request support or call the Benefits Help Line at 703-777-0517.

Keep Your Beneficiary Up to Date

This time of the year is a good time to review your beneficiaries for all your accounts.  

VRS and Life Insurance - VRS pays benefits according to the latest beneficiary designation in your record. For more information, see Naming a Beneficiary. To change your beneficiary, log in to your myVRS account to make updates. Should you need assistance, call 888-827-3847 (select option 3 for myVRS online assistance).

Supplemental Retirement Plans -  Manage your beneficiaries for your retirement accounts through MissionSquare Retirement. Log into your account. From the home page, click on Profile and select Beneficiaries. Repeat the steps for all your retirement accounts through MissionSquare Retirement.

Enrolled in HSA? Log into myCigna.com. Go to Spending Accounts and open Health Savings Account.  Click Visit HSA Bank and update your beneficiaries.
