Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

Employment & Training Assistance

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program can assist eligible adults and dislocated workers with employment and training services, including career guidance, resume and job search assistance, occupational trainings and credentials, paid work experience opportunities, work uniforms, tools, and other supportive services.

Please Note: The WIOA program is coordinated regionally. Orientation and eligibility determination for Northern Virginia is managed by Fairfax County. Once determined eligible, individuals can enroll and receive WIOA services at a Virginia Career Works center of their choice, including the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center.

WIOA Title I-financially assisted programs and Virginia Career Works – Northern are an equal opportunity program/employer committed to nondiscrimination on the basis of disability in all programs, services and activities. Reasonable accommodations, to include auxiliary aids and services, are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

How to Get Started

To learn more about the program and to find out if it is right for you, follow these steps:

1. Attend a Virtual WIOA Information Session or watch the WIOA Orientation Video. Get details about available services, eligibility requirements, and the enrollment process.

WIOA Information Sessions are hosted by our colleagues in Fairfax County and are held via Zoom on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Registration is required. Upon registration, a Zoom link will be emailed to you by a Fairfax WIOA partner. For assistance with registration, email Brittany Gordon.

If you are unable to attend a session or watch the video, contact the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center at 703-777-0150 (press Option 1) to discuss other options with our Employment Resource Navigator.

 2. Complete an application. Download the WIOA Eligibility Application Packet (PDF), complete the forms and collect the required documents.

 3. Meet with us. Schedule an eligibility determination appointment with an Intake Specialist from our partners at the Fairfax County office. Once determined eligible and you wish to enroll, the Intake Specialist will refer your case to a WIOA Case Manager at the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center, unless you elect to receive services at a Center in Prince William or Fairfax counties.
