Planning Your Trip to the Courthouse Complex

Parking 

Free public parking for standard size vehicles (vehicles under 8’2”) is available at the Pennington Parking Garage and Lot, located at 210 Church Street NE, Leesburg 20176. 

The Courthouse Complex is located approximately 3 blocks away from the parking garage and lot. Complimentary shuttle service to and from the Pennington Garage and Lot and the Courthouse Complex runs approximately every 10 minutes, Monday - Friday 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Accessible parking is available in the Semones Lot and the Pennington Parking Garage and Lot.

Public Transportation

The most convenient bus stop to the courthouse is the Loudoun County Government Center bus stop. View the Local Bus schedules for routes that stop at the Government Center. Loudoun County Transit provides local, fixed-route bus service from Leesburg through eastern Loudoun County, including OnDemand paratransit service for eligible persons with disabilities. Courthouse Security

Screening Procedure

Each visitor who enters the Loudoun County Courthouse will go through a security screening procedure at each of the courthouses. To speed up the process, visitors are asked to:

• Lock up any unauthorized personal electronic devices in the provided lockers.
• Empty pockets and place contents in the container(s) provided.
• Place purses, briefcases, backpacks, and parcels on the x-ray machine as directed for scanning.
• Walk through the metal detector at the direction of the deputy.
• Inform the deputy if you have a metal implant and/or medical device attached to your body prior to walking through the metal detector.
• Deputies may perform an additional search using a handheld metal detector and/or physical search of the person/personal articles if deemed necessary.

Items Prohibited in the Courthouse 

• Weapons
  • Guns, stun guns, knives (or any sharp objects), ammunition, pepper spray, mace, razor blades, glass bottles, Illegal drugs.
  • Any dangerous or hazardous material or property that could be used to injure or harm another person.
• Portable Electronic Devices
  • Any type of audio/video recording devices, cellphones with built-in cameras, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, etc. must be stored in the provided lockers or brought back to your vehicle.

Courthouse Etiquette

• Dress appropriately: shirts and shoes are required.
• Once you are in the courtroom and court has started, please remain seated and quiet until your case is called.
• No eating or drinking in the courtroom.
• No wearing hats or head coverings (other than religious head coverings or for medical reasons).
• If you have a child with you who starts to cry or becomes disruptive, please take them out of the courtroom.
• If you are standing in the hallway outside the courtroom, please conduct yourself in a quiet and orderly manner.

Accessibility 

Loudoun County Courts make every effort to ensure its services are accessible. Citizens can request accommodations or auxiliary services by contacting the county’s ADA Coordinator at 571-258-3282 (TTY 711) or by email.

In most cases, at least three business days’ advance notice is requested for reasonable accommodations to be arranged.

Hearing Impaired Assistance

Each courtroom is equipped with an infrared emitter. Headphones are available upon request.
