Loudoun County Combined Fire & Rescue System Committees

Executive Committee (EC)

The Executive Committee serves as the highest level legislative policy making body for the Loudoun County-Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS) and is responsible for System-wide proposed guidelines for recommendation to the System Chief. The intent is to collectively draft policies and procedures in the spirit of cooperation which provide clarity and consistency to all system members throughout the County to benefit the citizens in which we serve. The Executive Committee provides advice and counsel to the System Chief with regard to policies, procedures, strategic planning, finances, audits, training requirements and LC-CFRS-wide discipline of volunteer members and any other duties as assigned by the System Chief.

Administrative Operations Committee (AOC)

The Administrative Operations Committee is responsible for providing recommendations to the Executive Committee and the System Chief on matters pertaining to, but not limited to, system-wide procedures, specifically, administrative guidelines, fiscal matters and recruitment and retention of volunteers. In addition, the System Compliance Subcommittee, excluding members of the Executive Committee and the System Chief, is appointed by the AOC, addresses disciplinary matters and provides recommendations to the Executive Committee and the System Chief regarding serious misconduct based upon the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System Code of Conduct as outlined in 258.07. The AOC is responsible for the oversight of the Budget Subcommittee, Cost Benefit Subcommittee and the Fundraising Boundaries Subcommittee and any other subcommittees as deemed appropriate for the assistance of goals and objectives. 

Fire Operations Committee (FOC)

The Fire Operations Committee is comprised of an elected Fire Chief from each Volunteer Fire Company as well as one member of career personnel as appointed by the System Chief. The FOC provides counsel on matters pertaining to Fire Prevention and Fire Suppression. The FOC is responsible for the oversight of the Apparatus Standards Subcommittee and any other subcommittees as deemed appropriate for the assistance of goals and objectives.

Emergency Medical Services Operations Committee (EMSOC) 

The Emergency Medical Services Operations Committee provides counsel on matters pertaining to Emergency Medical Services. The EMSOC is responsible for the oversight of the EMS Council, Incorporated, Advanced Life Support (ALS) Committee, the Basic Life Support (BLS) Committee, Medical Direction Committee and any other subcommittees as deemed appropriate for the assistance of goals and objectives.
