Church Street Closures Scheduled for Loudoun Courthouse Construction Utility Work Beginning May 23

Posted on May 20, 2022 at 12:14 PM by Heidi Kellum

Loudoun County is scheduled to continue utility work as part of the Loudoun County Courts Complex Expansion project, which will result in daily closures of a segment of Church Street, SE, between Market and Loudoun Streets. The closures will prohibit through traffic on Church Street. The closures are expected to last for about two weeks, beginning Monday, May 23, 2022. Weather permitting, the construction will take place on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

During this timeframe, through traffic will access this segment of Church Street, SE, during evening and weekend hours only. Daily access will be maintained for pedestrians and businesses, and the Town of Leesburg parking lot and Government Center Parking Garage will remain open. Drivers and pedestrians should use extra caution when traveling through this area and follow all directions from the posted signs and road crews.

Visitors to the Loudoun County Courthouse continue to have access to the existing building. Free parking is available in the Pennington Lot and Pennington Garage, which is located off Church Street, approximately two blocks from the courthouse.
