The original item was published from November 3, 2022 3:29 PM to November 3, 2022 4:17 PM

The process of renaming a number of roads and streets throughout Loudoun County that began in April 2022 continues.

Completed Renamings

  • The renamings of Leesburg Court in Sterling and Little River Lane in Aldie have been completed. Leesburg Court is now Compass Rose Court and Little River Lane is now Vilgrain Farm Lane. The new street names are now available in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Open Street Map and Waze.

Streets in and around Round Hill

  • The renamings of Early Avenue, Jackson Avenue, Lee Drive, Longstreet Avenue and Pickett Road are underway. Property owners of these streets were asked to nominate names for consideration. Names that are available for use were provided by ballot to the property owners. Once a new name has been chosen by the residents, it will not become official until after the new year. Residents will be notified by letter of the exact date their new address will become effective.

  • Hampton Road: Hampton Road residents were asked to nominate names for consideration. Only one name was submitted that was available for use – “Cinnamon Fern Road,” which will become the new name of Hampton Road. This road name will not become official until after the new year. Residents should not begin using their new address until notified of the exact date it will officially change. Note: “Cinnamon Fern” is a type of fern that is native to Virginia.
