Reservoir Ridge Right Turn Lane Re-Opens and Traffic Shifts on Southbound Belmont Ridge Road

Posted on December 16, 2022 at 4:14 PM by Shawn Zelman

The contractor for the Belmont Ridge Road Widening Project intends to re-open the right turn lane from southbound Belmont Ridge Road onto Reservoir Ridge Road, on or about December 21, 2022.  In addition, southbound lane of Belmont Ridge Road south of Reservoir Ridge Road will shift to the west for through traffic.  See traffic diagram.

Drivers should use extra caution and slow down when traveling through these areas. Please follow all directions from the posted signs and road crews as heavy construction is underway and residents are entering and exiting their neighborhoods off Belmont Ridge Road between Croson Lane and Truro Parish Drive.

This project reconstructs and widens Belmont Ridge Road between Truro Parish Drive and Croson Lane from the existing two-lane rural road to a modern four-lane, median-divided, suburban roadway, with shared-use paths for pedestrians and bicyclists on each side. Project benefits include alleviating traffic in the corridor, providing active transportation solutions, and connecting commuters to major activity and employment centers.

Funding for this regionally significant project is from Loudoun County, NVTA and the state’s Revenue Sharing Program administered by VDOT-LAP. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2024.

More information, including a link to sign up for updates on the project, can be found at loudoun.gov/belmontridgeimprovements.
