The Loudoun County Planning Commission is scheduled to meet Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. to continue its work on the Zoning Ordinance Rewrite project. The meeting will be held in the Board Room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. SE, in Leesburg.

May 18 Agenda

The Planning Commission is scheduled to discuss the following topics during its meeting:

  • Zoning Ordinance Rewrite Project Summary
  • Planning Commission Uses Subcommittee Report
  • Section 7.02 – Open Space

A project summary memo (PDF) provides the commission with a detailed overview of its work to date since holding public hearings on the draft ordinance in August 2022 and January 2023.

Also included in the Planning Commission meeting packet is a Uses Subcommittee Report (PDF), which provides the full commission with an update on its subcommittee’s efforts in reviewing Chapter 3, Uses; Chapter 4, Use Specific Standards; and Chapter 12, Definitions. The subcommittee previously met six times and discussed 29 topics.

The Planning Commission is working toward producing a final recommended draft of the Zoning Ordinance that will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for review and ultimate adoption later this year.
