The Loudoun County Planning Commission is scheduled to meet on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. to continue its work on the Zoning Ordinance Rewrite project. The meeting will be held in the Board Room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St., SE, in Leesburg.
June 5 Agenda
The Planning Commission is set to finalize a recommended draft Zoning Ordinance during its June 5 work session. Once the final recommended text is approved by the Planning Commission, the recommended draft ordinance will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for consideration, revisions and ultimately adoption. The Board is expected to hold a public hearing on the draft ordinance as early as this summer.
During the May 18 work session, the Planning Commission discussed a number of topics and directed additional revisions to the draft Zoning Ordinance. A summary of the Planning Commission’s previous actions, edits made to the draft text since May 18, and the topics for discussion and potential action during the June 5 work session, are included in the June 5, 2023 staff memo (PDF).
During the June 5 work session, the Planning Commission is scheduled to consider potential Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance amendments that it will recommend the Board of Supervisors consider in the future through separate processes after a new Zoning Ordinance is adopted.
May 19, 2023 Draft Zoning Ordinance
The Planning Commission’s previous work sessions to date resulted in a complete draft ordinance, which is posted on the county’s website at loudoun.gov/ZoningOrdinanceRewrite.
The May 19 version of the draft ordinance will be refined further by the Planning Commission during the June 5 work session. The commission’s final, recommended draft Zoning Ordinance will be published in advance of the Board of Supervisors public hearing on the draft ordinance later this summer.
