Franklin Park Trail Construction to Begin the Week of August 17, 2020

Posted on August 17, 2020 at 10:01 AM by Shawn Zelman

The week of August 17, 2020, construction is scheduled to begin on the Round Hill projects at the Franklin Park Trail. Members of the public will see signage off of Lakefield Road alerting them about the construction.

This project will construct a shared-use path that will link the center of Round Hill to Franklin Park, this link will consist of concrete sidewalks along both sides of E. Loudoun Street to Main Street to the location of the former W&OD railroad station. Additional Main Street enhancements and E. Loudoun Street include curbs, curb ramps, retaining walls and a new storm drainage system. When the project is completed, pedestrian connectivity between Round Hill and Franklin Park will be established, and pedestrian access and safety along East Loudoun Street and Main Street will be improved.

In September 2020, water line relocation will take place off of E. Loudoun Street.

More information, including a link to sign up for updates on the project, can be found at loudoun.gov/roundhilltrail.
