[ARCHIVED] Construction Work for the Riverside Parkway Project is Underway

The original item was published from December 9, 2019 4:36 PM to December 9, 2019 4:42 PM

The county’s subcontractor for the Riverside Parkway construction project, Francis O. Day Company, Inc., has completed the removal of the traffic signal at the intersection of Lexington Drive and Route 7. The installation of inlaid pavement markers on Route 7 will take place at a future date; however, there are no planned impacts to motorists on Route 7 at this time.

A construction entrance for the project has been established on Smith Circle (west) and is maintained with a sweeper to keep the entrance and roadway clear of debris. Motorists may experience minor delays due to flagging in this area while periodic sweeping is taking place.

In preparation for constructing the new Riverside Parkway segment, Francis O. Day Company, Inc. continues to install and maintain erosion and sediment control measures from Silvery Blue Terrace to Loudoun County Parkway. This work includes stabilizing areas that will not be disturbed for more than 30 days with temporary seeds and mulch, and the construction of four temporary sediment basins.
