Loudoun County Update
  • You can improve how your face mask protects you. Updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) emphasizes that wearing a well-fitting mask is important in helping curb the spread of COVID-19. This comes after the CDC posted results of new research that tested different types of masks and found that combining a cloth mask over a disposable surgical mask could significantly reduce the spread of the virus to others. It also reduces exposure to the virus for the wearer. The CDC recommends people wear masks with a nose wire that can be adjusted for a snug fit and suggests knotting the ear loops of a disposal mask and then tucking in and flattening the extra material close to the face. Read the updated guidelines.
