Crews working on the Crosstrail Boulevard – Kincaid Blvd to Russell Branch Pkwy project are installing girders at Tuscarora Creek and the W&OD Trail for the bridge structure that will carry Crosstrail Boulevard over Tuscarora Creek. By spring 2021, excess material will be moved off-site, bridge girders will be complete and storm drainage work will be finished.
In the next several weeks, work to install subbase stone, and curb and gutter will begin. The timeline for the placement of asphalt is weather dependent.
Traffic signal modification at the intersection of Russel Branch and Crosstrail Boulevard is estimated to begin by May 2021. Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed in winter 2023.
The project will construct a new four-lane, divided road segment, extending Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway. When completed, Crosstrail Boulevard will provide a new connection between Sycolin Road near Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park and Route 7.
