Underground Utility Work Complete for Lovettsville Community Park Project

Posted on April 5, 2021 at 9:05 AM by Heidi Kellum

Last month, crews completed water, storm and sewer underground utility work for the Lovettsville Community Park. Mass excavation on the project site is nearing completion. Work to prepare the athletic fields and equestrian area for surface material is nearing completion and crews have begun installing irrigation lines.

This month, preparation work has begun for the prefabricated park buildings. Electrical work is underway; enclosures have been installed and crews are routing underground piping to park features.

Located near East Broadway, Lovettsville Road and Milltown Road in Lovettsville, this project includes the construction of 90 acres of park facilities. These facilities include equestrian trails, walking trails, off-leash areas, a pond and amphitheater. In addition, the park facilities include 4 softball/baseball fields, 3 soccer fields and an equestrian area.

Construction will include improvements to the southern entrance and a new asphalt play area at Lovettsville Elementary School. Other additions to the park site include site lighting, athletic field lighting, athletic field irrigation systems, fencing, retaining walls, athletic field accessories, flag poles, utility infrastructure, storm water grading, piping, and landscaping.
