Loudoun County Update
  • Loudoun Officials Encourage Pre-Registrations: Loudoun County health officials say if you are in the Phase 1a (PDF) or Phase 1b (PDF) priority group for the COVID-19 vaccine and have not pre-registered for the vaccine, now is the time to sign up. As we reported in an earlier blog post today, the county has made significant progress in working through the waitlist of people who are pre-registered for a COVID-19 vaccine.
    • Anyone who has not yet pre-registered for a COVID-19 vaccine and is among those in the Phase 1a and 1b priority groups—such as health care workers, people 65 years and older and 16-to-64 years old with high-risk medical conditions or a disability, and front-line essential workers listed in the eleven categories of the Phase 1b priority group—should pre-register for a vaccine as soon as possible. You can do this in one of two ways:
      • Online: Visit vaccinate.virginia.gov. The fastest method for receiving a vaccination appointment is to include email addresses in the pre-registration form for each individual who will receive a vaccine.
      • Phone: Individuals who do not have access to the internet can pre-register by calling 1-877-829-4682.
    • Anyone who is in the 1a or 1b groups and pre-registered with the county and has not been contacted should:
      • First, check your spam or junk email folder for an email from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) which is used to pre-register, to ensure the invitation for an appointment was not sent there.
      • Second, if you have not received an email, contact the county by calling 703-737-8300, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
    • More information about the county's vaccinations efforts is available at loudoun.gov/covid19vaccine
  • Virginia Expanding Vaccine Eligibility to All Adults: Governor Ralph Northam has announced that eligibility for COVID-19 vaccinations will be expanded to all individuals in Virginia age 16 and older beginning April 18, 2021. The governor says that based on the supply projected by the federal government, all local health districts will have enough vaccine to open appointments to the general public by April 18. Those at highest risk will continue to receive priority in the scheduling process. Read details in this news release from the governor’s office.
  • COVID-19 Funeral Assistance: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that it will begin providing financial assistance for funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020, for deaths related to COVID-19 to help ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the pandemic. Details of the funeral assistance program are still being finalized and FEMA is expected to begin accepting applications for assistance later this month. Read more about the new program on FEMA’s website
  • COVID-19 Testing Continues: Loudoun County is holding weekly drive-thru COVID-19 testing events on Tuesdays in April. The next event is scheduled for April 6, 2021, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park, 42405 Claudia Drive, Leesburg (Enter the park on Crosstrail Boulevard from Sycolin Road.) The complete schedule and links to required registration forms that can be filled out in advance are available at loudoun.gov/covid19testing.
