Loudoun County Update

• COVID-19 Update on Board of Supervisors April 20 Meeting Agenda: Loudoun County Health Director Dr. David Goodfriend will provide an update on COVID-19 in Loudoun at tonight’s (4/20/) Board of Supervisors business meeting, which begins at 5:00 p.m. The update will include the latest information on the pandemic in Loudoun, including vaccinations, cases, testing and more.

• Hang on to Your Vaccination Card: When you get your first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, you receive a small white card with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention logo that tells you which COVID-19 vaccine you received, the date you received it and where you received it. You take the vaccination card to your second dose appointment where the second dose is noted. That card is your tangible proof of vaccination and you don’t want to lose it. 
  • If You Lose Your Vaccination Card: You can contact the Virginia Immunization Information System by sending an email, submitting an online form or calling 1-866-375-9795. If you enrolled in v-safe, the smartphone-based, after-vaccination health checker following your first vaccine dose, you can also access your vaccination information through that tool.
  • Scam Alert: According to recent news reports, COVID-19 vaccination cards are fast becoming a target of scammers. Phony copies of the cards have been sold through online marketplaces. The National Association of Attorneys General, which represents the chief legal officers of individual states, has urged online sites to stop the sales of fake vaccination cards, saying they can endanger public health. Individuals might use the phony cards to misrepresent their vaccination status, potentially exposing others to risk.
• Free COVID-19 Testing April 27 in Ashburn: The next Loudoun County-sponsored COVID-19 testing event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Ray Muth Sr. Memorial Park, 20971 Marblehead Drive, Ashburn. Important things to know about the free event:
  • It is open to everyone; no age or residency requirements.
  • No prescriptions or appointments are necessary.
  • It is drive-thru only.
  • A person does not have to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 in order to be tested.
  • A PCR test (nasal swab) will be administered, which tests for the novel coronavirus. 
  • Results will be available within a week. 
  • No antibody testing will be offered.
  • No COVID-19 vaccine will be available at the event.
  • Required registration forms, which can be filled out and printed ahead of time, are at loudoun.gov/covid19testing
