Crosstrail Boulevard Construction Crews to Pour Concrete for Tuscarora Creek Bridge

Posted on May 24, 2021 at 9:26 AM by Heidi Kellum

Crews constructing a segment of Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway in Leesburg will begin concrete deck pours for the bridge over Tuscarora Creek the week of May 24, 2021 and will continue as needed through mid-July 2021. The work is part of a County project to extend existing Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway. Concrete pours are scheduled to begin at 4:00 a.m., before the contractor’s allowable hours of 7:00 a.m. Loudoun County has received the required approvals for the change in work hours.

In the coming weeks, crews will manage concrete pours, continue installing curb and gutter, and prepare for placing asphalt for the future roadway. Traffic signal modification at the intersection of Russell Branch and Crosstrail Boulevard is estimated to begin by May 2021.

For complaints regarding construction noise that is not in compliance with the Loudoun County Codified Ordinance or the Leesburg Town Code (for those living within town limits), please call the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) non-emergency line at (703) 777-1021. The Loudoun County Codified ordinance allows for construction, demolition and/or maintenance activities which produce sound between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, or from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays. Within town limits, the Leesburg Town Code allows construction noise, including pneumatic hammers, chain saws, pile drivers, steam shovels and similar equipment between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The project will construct a new four-lane, divided road segment, extending Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway. When completed, Crosstrail Boulevard will provide a new connection between Sycolin Road near Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park and Route 7.

Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed in winter 2023.
