Park Features Take Shape at Potomac Green Community Park

Posted on May 26, 2021 at 9:05 AM by Heidi Kellum

Park features are taking shape at the Potomac Green Community Park. The park project includes the construction of park features and buildings that will complete a proffered 28-acre park in Ashburn, Virginia. Potomac Green Community Park was dedicated to the county by the neighborhood developer and contains three multi-purpose athletic fields for soccer, football and lacrosse, and one baseball field.

Over the last month, installation of the poured-in-place surfacing, a layered surface product that contains rubber, at the playground area was completed. Crews are now pouring asphalt for the pedestrian paths and parking lot.

This month, work on the athletic fields, picnic and exercise areas includes the installation of netting, shade structures and furnishings, such as fitness equipment. In addition, work on the concession and restroom building interior is underway, including door and window installation, ceiling installation, painting, plumbing rough-in, and electrical rough-in.

Crews will continue to work on utilities and site fine grading until project completion, estimated for June 2021, weather permitting.

The Potomac Green Community Park project scope includes the construction of park upgrades, including additional parking areas, an ADA accessible restroom facility, concession stand, sidewalks and trails, pavilions, bleachers, safety netting, baseball backstops, a playground, off-leash area, tennis/pickle ball court, and a bocce ball court
