Crews have begun the construction of masonry walls for the new Lovettsville Community Center. The center is currently under construction in the Town of Lovettsville at the site of the old community center building. Preparations are also underway for the installation of structural steel support beams, recently delivered to the project site.
Over the next several weeks, crews will continue underground stormwater systems and utilities work, installation of concrete masonry walls and supporting structures, and rough-in for electrical conduit, which will protect the building’s electrical wiring.
Construction is currently estimated for completion in summer 2022, weather permitting.
The new community center will be over 15,000 square feet and will have a full-size gymnasium, five classrooms, a multipurpose room, a kitchen, administrative offices, meeting space and storage areas. The project also includes a 600-square-foot addition and renovation to the existing 1,200-square-foot Pool House.
