Loudoun County Update

  • Loudoun County Public Schools to Require Masks
    • Amid concern about the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant, Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) announced today (8/2/21) that all students and staff will be required to wear face coverings for indoor activities when the 2021-22 school year begins August 26, 2021.
    • LCPS officials point to updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students and visitors to schools regardless of vaccination status.
    • Read details from LCPS.
  • National Immunization Awareness Month
    • Don't let the COVID-19 pandemic keep you from scheduling routine vaccination appointments. August is National Immunization Awareness Month and Loudoun County health officials encourage everyone to make sure they are up to date on recommended vaccinations for serious diseases such as whooping cough, shingles and meningitis.
    • Loudoun County Health Director Dr. David Goodfriend says many people have postponed visits to their doctors, which also meant postponing vaccinations that everyone needs to stay healthy. Now is the best time to get a checkup and catch up on vaccinations, including the vaccine for COVID-19.
