• Total Vaccine Doses Administered - Loudoun: 610,579 (up 24,692 since last report) I  Virginia: 12,452,709 (up 326,522 since last report)

Loudoun County Update

• Booster Eligibility Expanded: As we reported earlier today, following federal and state authorization, Loudoun County is now offering COVID-19 vaccine booster appointments to all adults at the county’s Dulles Town Center clinic. Be advised that appointments for boosters are limited through November. 
  • Individuals 18 and older who received their second dose in the two-dose series of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago are eligible for the booster. People who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago are already recommended to receive a booster dose. 
  • Appointments continue to be available at the Dulles Town Center clinic for anyone 5 and older who has not received their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Loudoun County Health Director Dr. David Goodfriend says the county continues to see substantial transmission of the virus in the community, which is largely driven by infected children, so vaccinating children 5 and older as soon as possible remains a critical phase in the county's ongoing efforts to protect Loudoun residents and help bring an end to the pandemic.
  • In addition to the Dulles Town Center clinic, COVID-19 vaccines are available from many providers, such as medical offices and pharmacies. These locations have the benefit of being able to also provide flu vaccine at the same time, which is recommended by the Health Department. Visit vaccines.gov to find a convenient vaccination site.

• Celebrating Holidays Safely: If you’re planning to travel or gather with others during the upcoming holidays, Loudoun County health officials encourage you to take precautions against COVID-19, including getting tested. 
  • Get tested before you visit with others who live outside your household regardless of their vaccination status. Knowing whether you’re infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 before you celebrate will help you to know when you should stay home so that you don’t unknowingly spread the virus to others. 
  • Take a COVID-19 test close to the date when you are traveling or planning to gather with others, but far enough ahead to get results.

• Next COVID-19 Testing Events: Loudoun County is hosting two more COVID-19 testing events in November: 
  • Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Claude Moore Park, 46150 Loudoun Park Lane, Sterling, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, November 30, 2021, Franklin Park, 17501 Franklin Park Drive, Purcellville, 10:a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • The drive-thru events are free and open to all. Required registration forms can be filled out ahead of time. You can find links to the forms as well as a schedule of testing events online at loudoun.gov/COVID19testing.
