Posted on January 21, 2022 at 9:28 AM by Shawn Zelman

On Monday, December 13, 2021, Loudoun County hosted its fourth and final Focus Group meeting on the Route 9 Safety and Operational Study, which includes 13 miles along Route 9 from the West Virginia border to Route 7. The meeting’s goals were to summarize the public’s input, highlight the preferred alternatives and recommended priorities, receive the focus group’s feedback, and review next steps. Members of the public can review the presentation and recording at loudoun.gov/route9. In addition, questions and answers from the meeting are now available under the Meeting Documents header, Focus Group Meetings and the date.

The study team is preparing the final report and will be presented to the Board of Supervisors at a future Board of Supervisors’ business meeting. There will be additional opportunity for public input at that meeting.

Loudoun County is conducting the Route 9 Safety and Operational Study to identify safety and traffic operational issues and present recommended solutions for consideration by the Board of Supervisors. The county is working with the public to ensure any proposed improvements along Route 9 will continue to carry local and commuter traffic safely and efficiently while preserving the rural context of the roadway.
