Construction Work to Begin on Belmont Ridge Road Improvements Project

Posted on February 9, 2022 at 1:11 PM by Heidi Kellum

Construction to widen Belmont Ridge Road between Truro Parish Road to Croson Lane will begin today, February 9, 2022. The crews will be onsite Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The road construction will continue, weather permitting, through August 2024. In this first phase of construction, crews will be clearing ground debris, installing erosion and sediment controls, and installing sediment basins. Residents should expect traffic delays along the corridor during construction.

This project reconstructs and widens Belmont Ridge Road between Truro Parish Drive and Croson Lane from the existing two-lane rural road to a modern four-lane, median-divided, suburban roadway, with shared-use paths for pedestrians and bicyclists on each side. Project benefits include alleviating traffic in the corridor, providing active transportation solutions, and connecting commuters to major activity and employment centers.

Funding for this regionally significant project is from Loudoun County, NVTA and the state’s Revenue Sharing Program administered by VDOT. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2024.
