Metal Roof Installed on New Sterling Park Safety Center

Posted on February 10, 2022 at 9:04 AM by Heidi Kellum

In the last several weeks, crews constructing the new Sterling Park Safety Center in Sterling, V.a. completed the installation of metal roof decking. Crews are currently roughing in utilities and preparing for concrete slab pours on the first and second floors. When completed, the Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies will use the new 22,000 square foot facility to provide services for the Sterling community.

For the next several weeks, ongoing work to construct masonry walls and setting structural steel beams will continue. Currently, construction is estimated to be complete in summer 2022.

The new Loudoun County Fire and Rescue facility will replace the current 8,772-square-foot building on this site dating from 1970 and provide more storage and parking. The one-acre property will also expand by a third of an acre. Features of the facility will include a reception area, meeting and training rooms, bunk rooms, a kitchen, an exercise room, offices, apparatus bays, and storage space for equipment and gear.
