Construction Progressing on New Sterling Park Safety Center

Posted on March 24, 2022 at 8:50 AM by Heidi Kellum

In the last several weeks, crews have made progress constructing the new Sterling Park Safety Center in Sterling, Va. Work to install structural steel is nearing completion and crews are preparing for concrete slab pours on the second and third floors. When completed, the Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies will use the new 22,000 square foot facility to provide services for the Sterling community.

For the next several weeks, ongoing work to construct masonry walls, pour concrete slabs, and rough-in utilities will continue. Construction is estimated to be complete in summer 2022, weather permitting.

The new Loudoun County Fire and Rescue facility will replace the current 8,772-square-foot building on this site dating from 1970 and provide more storage and parking. The one-acre property will also expand by a third of an acre. Features of the facility will include a reception area, meeting and training rooms, bunk rooms, a kitchen, an exercise room, offices, apparatus bays, and storage space for equipment and gear.
