Zoning Maps Posted; County to Hold First Open House on Zoning Ordinance Draft Tonight, April 21

Posted on April 21, 2022 at 12:23 PM by Nancy McCormick

To assist Loudoun County property owners in reviewing the draft Zoning Ordinance, two maps – one that specifies the existing zoning districts and one that represents draft new zoning districts – have been posted on the Zoning Ordinance Rewrite webpage. They can be reviewed here

Please note: Draft new zoning district information is not yet available at the parcel level (individual property owner level).  The Planning Commission is planning to hold a public hearing on the draft new zoning ordinance in the fall of 2022. Prior to that public hearing, the county will mail a letter to property owners whose zoning district is changing that identifies the existing and draft new zoning district for their property.

As a reminder, the public engagement period for the first draft of the new county Zoning Ordinance is underway through July 18, 2022. An online interactive platform allows individuals to read through the draft Zoning Ordinance and provide comments on the content

In addition, Loudoun County is holding a series of meetings, in an open house format, for members of the public to learn more about the draft Zoning Ordinance and to  ask questions of county staff, learn more about the process and provide input on the ordinance.

The first meeting is scheduled for tonight, Thursday, April 21, 2022, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., in the Dulles Room on the first floor of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. SE, Leesburg.
