Exterior Finish Work Nears Completion for New Sterling Park Safety Center

Posted on July 13, 2022 at 9:19 AM by Heidi Kellum

In the last several weeks, crews completed pouring the concrete slab for the Apparatus Bay floor and work to install exterior finishes, such as brick and siding, is nearing completion at the new Sterling Park Safety Center in Sterling, Va. Crews have begun trellis construction on the exterior patio and interior finish work. When completed, the Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies will use the new 22,000 square foot facility to provide services for the Sterling community.

For the next several weeks, crews will complete trellis construction and continue interior finish work, including painting walls and trim. Construction is estimated to be complete in fall 2022, weather permitting.

The new Loudoun County Fire and Rescue facility will replace the current 8,772-square-foot building on this site dating from 1970 and provide more storage and parking. The one-acre property will also expand by a third of an acre. Features of the facility will include a reception area, meeting and training rooms, bunk rooms, a kitchen, an exercise room, offices, apparatus bays, and storage space for equipment and gear.
