Night Work and Road Closures as Part of Courts Complex Expansion

Posted on September 2, 2022 at 10:16 AM by Heidi Kellum

Loudoun County is scheduled to begin asphalt work around areas where utility work was recently completed as part of the Courts Complex Expansion project in Leesburg, which will lead to evening and overnight traffic detours from September 8-September 15, 2022. Weather permitting, the work activity will take place from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. Residents will see increased construction activity, changes to the vehicular traffic flow and road closures on Edwards Ferry Road from East Market Street to Harrison Street, East Market Street from Harrison Street to King Street and Church Street from East Market Street to Cornwall Street.

Traffic will be detoured around the construction. Road closure barriers, construction signs and detour signs will be set up prior to the work beginning each night and will be taken down the following morning. Drivers and pedestrians should use extra caution when traveling through the area near the Loudoun County Courthouse and follow all directions from the posted signs and road crews.

Visitors to the Loudoun County Courthouse continue to have access to the existing building. Free parking is available in the Pennington Lot and Pennington Garage, which is located off Church Street, approximately two blocks from the courthouse.
