Loudoun County Update
  • On March 19, 2020, Northern Virginia Health Departments acknowledged that there is evidence of community transmission of COVID-19 in parts of Northern Virginia. This means that for some individuals who tested positive for COVID-19, the source of infection could not be identified. Because infectious diseases do not respect boundaries, health officials urged everyone to remain vigilant to help slow further spread of the virus. Read more in the news release.
  • Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis J. Randall released a video today to provide the community with an update on the COVID-19 situation in our community. Chair Randall addressed a number of questions that she has received from the community. Watch the video now.
  • Members of the Loudoun County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) are actively supporting COVID-19 response efforts.  Anyone, medical and non-medical, who wants to be eligible to assist in the response should visit the MRC website for more information. Please remember that you must be a credentialed member of an organization such as the MRC to be able to assist now or in the future. Spontaneous volunteers are strongly discouraged.
  • Governor Northam released guidance for child care providers to slow the spread of COVID-19 and support essential personnel.
  • Loudoun County Public Schools is delivering meals throughout the county to various community locations between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. weekdays. Visit this map to see when the bus will be in your neighborhood.
  • Additional closures and changes to operating status have been made in county facilities:
    • Please visit loudoun.gov/temporaryclosures before visiting county offices to check on the status of operations at our various facilities.
    • Loudoun County Public Libraries has a new web page with information on account changes and online resources, visit the page: library.loudoun.gov/covid19.
  • Check out the COVID-19 Need Assistance web page, which includes links for basic needs, food assistance, and dedicated grocery shopping hours.
