Building Exterior Work Nears Completion for Sterling Park Safety Center

Posted on October 6, 2022 at 9:59 AM by Heidi Kellum

In the last several weeks, crews have completed several items on the building exterior, including the brick, siding, glass, the trellis, and patio for the new Sterling Park Safety Center in Sterling, Va. Domestic water and sprinkler service lines have been installed and concrete pads for the utility and refuse enclosures have been poured. When construction is completed, the Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies will use the new 22,000 square foot facility to provide services for the Sterling community.

On the building interior, crews have completed the ceiling system install in the office and residential areas, and the glass installation. Over the next several weeks, crews will continue interior finish and utility work. Construction is estimated to be complete in fall 2022, weather permitting.

The new Loudoun County Fire and Rescue facility will replace the current 8,772-square-foot building on this site dating from 1970 and provide more storage and parking. The one-acre property will also expand by a third of an acre. Features of the facility will include a reception area, meeting and training rooms, bunk rooms, a kitchen, an exercise room, offices, apparatus bays, and storage space for equipment and gear.
