Posted on December 13, 2022 at 10:05 AM by Heidi Kellum

Crews constructing a new recreation and community center on Broadland’s Boulevard in Ashburn, Va. have begun to install the building’s concrete foundations and underground mechanical piping. In the coming weeks, the underground installations and concrete slabs will be completed in preparation for steel erection.

This project is in the construction phase, currently on schedule for completion in summer 2025. When construction is substantially complete, the facility will be turned over to the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) for programming. More information about Loudoun County Capital Projects and phases is provided at loudoun.gov/capitalprojects.

The Ashburn Recreation and Community Center project is a 117,000-square-foot recreation and community center on Broadlands Boulevard, west of the intersection with Claiborne Parkway. The two-story facility will feature a 50-meter competition pool, leisure pool, spa, full-size gymnasium, soft sensory playroom, multipurpose room with a catering and teaching kitchen, classrooms, offices and meeting spaces.

Additional features include a multi-use trail around the property, a large courtyard with seating, a splash play area and playground equipment.
